San Giles: Locations

Let’s go exploring in San Giles, California. It’s a strange city full of haunted places, unique hot spots, epic shopping and sensible places of business. Full of 1980s flair and beloved spaces that the various citizens of San Giles call home.

THE CITY OF SAN GILES

It’s had many taglines including “It’s haunted!” which was quickly vetoed as people were purposely avoiding the city for non haunted options nearby. They also tried “We may be haunted but please come shop here” which was far too long, so they went with the more palatable “Paradise of the Pacific Coast”.

SOUTHGATE SHOPPING CENTER

It’s not the 80s without a great shopping mall and shopping center. Southgate is the center of commerce for San Giles. It boasts not one Orange Julius but two, a movie theatre and local favorites like Just Scrunchies, FOE, and Wednesdays.

NOISE TOWER

The radio station in San Giles and Dali’s main place of work. Her late night show ‘The Daily Undead’ runs Wednesday-Fridays from “9pm till whenever” through 1981-1991. The show mainly features rock and roll and is known for hosting a ton of parties and giveaways. Those who work the night shift at Noise Tower are known as “the Undead Crew”.

GAME ON! ARCADE

The best arcade in town…well the only one. You’ll find all the games you desire from Pac Man and Galaga to Skeeball and pinball machines. And if you’re lucky, you’ll also find Celeste hanging out. Just don’t get on her bad side by beating her high score.

CAFE NOIR

Owned by Armani, who can brew some damn good coffee and tea. The shop is cozy, inviting, and offers the best in beverages, pastries, and food. She also offers additional services like healing and magic to clients in the know for the right price.

DIO’S DINER

Unlike Cafe Noir this is NOT the place to get coffee – or even food. But thankfully vampires aren’t particularly picky and the ambience/oddities inside keeps it interesting – like Motorcyle Harry, the impossible all you can eat challenge or the owner Dio (How old is he? Is he actually alive? No one knows…). Either way, you’ll find yourself there – or as the locals say “Dio’s – It’s where you’re at.”

PARADISE PAWNS

A local pawn shop that’s been there for about 30 years. “Kai” Kaimana Keali’i Lokilani Hamamura who runs it does honest deals, and if you know the right things to say, can get you anything you might need reaaaal quiet-like.

DAYLILY BEACH AND PIER

A park near the beach covered with the city flower – daylilies. It’s a popular spot with young lovers, people with pets, and wild flower enthusiasts – and if you happen to wander there after dark – a gaggle of young vampires.

CASA DE ROYALE APARTMENTS

A four story pink apartment building that a handful of brood members call home (Beth, Martin, Lucas – and Justin when couch-surfing). It also has a quaint courtyard with garden, balconies and a rooftop perfect for confessions of the romantic type.

ST. COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

The local university and home of the Stags. It has been around since the 1800s and has an eclectic mix of the eras as it has grown as an institution. The work place of Dr. Arabella, Dr. Lutkas, and Dr. Adler who each pursue their work as professors as well as their own research (some more nefarious than others).

ST CAMILLUS GENERAL HOSPITAL

The local medical center which houses regular doctor’s offices, a children’s hospital, an ER, and Juno’s psychiatric office. The hospital features multiple circles in the design and an ancient tree at its center – likely because witches were involved in its construction.

LEATHERWOOD TOWERS

Home to Leatherwood Reality & Acquisitions which is run by H.M. Collier alongside Marian Fitzgerald and his ghoul Angela Larsen. The CEO also resides in a penthouse in the top corner of the tower – perhaps so he can keep an eye on his future domain.

THE TRIPLE G

The Gin A Go Go (no affiliation that club on the sunset strip). A local concert venue run by Beth that host big shows, battle of the bands, and the occasional Rock/Punk/Metal night.

DANCESLYVANIA 666

Where Disco never dies. An underground nightclub run by Roxanne DeVine, it features a stage for live performances, a full bar, and light up dance floor. The hits keep spinning all night long.

PEMBROKE HOTEL (COMING SOON)

Construction is underway for this 5 star luxury hotel now that Thadd Pembroke has come to San Giles. Plans include a stunning hotel rooms, the finest dining service, a spa, and a VIP rooftop lounge with pool. Also the future spot of Thadd’s own penthouse.

DAZZLE FACTOR

The cutest shop in town and the place to pick up unique 80s jewelry when not wandering the Southgate mall. It’s where you’ll find Mira Forrest working a little of her jewelry magic.

EL RANCHO LUNA

Ricardo’s home just outside of San Giles city limits. This hacienda style home is decorated with things he has picked up from his adventures. It’s a big and quiet place and a great vacation/getaway for any brood member that needs it.

THE CLOWN MOTEL

Don’t go to the clown motel. I repeat do not go to the clown motel. It might seem like an interesting place to stay with its alluring prices, bright colorful artwork, and location at the edge of the city. But nothing good comes from this cursed place. Just ask Dali or Leo – or anyone who lives in San Giles – it’s a great way to end a conversation.
