Backstory: Dolores was the reason Celeste was a “failed experiment” she knew that Ivea had an eye on Celeste, her student since Celeste was admitted into the university. When Ivea instructed her to embrace Celeste, (partly to shut Arabella up about not having a chide ) Dolores knew Celeste was doomed if she did so. However not turning her wasn’t an option. Dolores before being instructed to embrace Celeste, did her own research. Typically a mix of Toreador and Malkavian DNA was a volatile mix and painfully kills the host. However, taking a stand of hair from her desk. She finds that Celeste’s DNA is actually semi compatible with both Toreador and Malkavian DNA.
Originally the wielder, should be a Tremere and Toreador hybrid. That way she is easily controlled by the Uni sires and have an easier time controlling the weapon. Adding Malkavian would weaken her grasp with the weapon but give some resistance to Dominate. It is not perfect but it will give her a fighting chance.
Arabella saw that Rachel threw away a serum that was Malkavian/Toreador and used it instead of the other mixture. Dolores however didn’t realize how potent and unstable that serum was. When she turned Celeste she thought she actually killed her since the serum was so strong. It broke her for months. That was until Lucas ran away and the search for him lead them to “the lost General”
