Appearance: Yellow eyes. 5’8″. Silvery, straight hair drawn back int he style of 1700s. He wears 1700s fashion when by himself. Usually some mix of old fashion and new. When in public he perfectly conforms for the sake of masquerade.
Backstory: Born into a wealthy noble family in Vienna. Supporter of Joseph II. Surprisingly humanitarian when still human. Much of his human life was spent trying to uplift the public, converting the first floor of his estate into a public library, and helping fund concerts in the park for the public to see and hear. He detested the nobles and much of humanity, and tried in that way to use science and knowledge to make humanity more godly and “good”, but as a participant in the classist system that upheld his title, did not really understand the hypocrisy of his endeavors. He was turned in 1770 by a woman named Lucia Casteli. She brought him into a brood of noble vampires who would fund his research and science. Fascinated with his new existence, he studied vampirism, conducting many tests he believed he would be absolved of once the end justified the means.
The Downward Spiral: When his sire was killed by a group of humans in a gruesome fashion, he changed. He began to shun humanity, who he believed he’d worked so hard to elevate only to be betrayed by. He began to throw his lot in with vampires instead. In the late 1800’s, he discovered the bloodline was beginning to thin. His worry over their race being discovered began to plague his mind. It only got worse during the world wars. After the horrific events of World War 1, he began to see humanity as the true monsters of the world. During World War 2, he fled to America. The events that took place during that horrific war convinced him that humanity could not be saved, and needed to be stopped. After all, if humans could perform such horrendous atrocities through small differences within their own race, they would stop at nothing to hunt and kill a vampire. His New Motivation: To strengthen the blood of a new generation of vampires so that they may never go extinct, and to eventually enslave humanity.
