Ryan Adair

Coming from a long line of vampire exterminators, Ryan is a fierce vampire hunter who accidentally got turned into the very creatures he hunts. He’s a strong fighter skilled in hand-to-hand combat, archery, and artillery. Though he hasn’t been able to conquer the most dangerous weapon of all: his feelings.

Backstory: Raised in a lineage of vampire hunters, Ryan was trained to be a skilled fighter, in various different fighting stances. He can fight melee and ranged, with his preferred weapon being a crossbow. He was made out to be a child warrior, his family demonizing vampires in order to justify their extermination of them. He was also homeschooled for most of his life, so seldom did he have friends that were outside of his family circle. Due to this lack of socialization as well, Ryan is stunted when it comes to his emotional side. He can be quite naive regarding topics such as love and his own sexuality (before the events of the plot, he never even had a girlfriend before), Ryan is often bad at socializing with other people and has an undeveloped sense of humor and usually doesn’t understand jokes or sarcasm too well. While he may have the status of seasoned warrior on the battlefield, the same cannot be said when it comes to making new friends. The cause of his downfall came late one night when the wrong vampires showed up to their mission. Ryan and his squad were easily overpowered, with his partners getting killed by the group of vampires. However, the leader of the group had a different idea: why kill him when they could instead use him to their advantage? Despite his pleading and begging to be killed instead, Elizabeth didn’t listen and forced him to turn. About a day later, after waking up, Ryan attempted to return home and pretend as if nothing happened. He had thoughts about committing suicide, which is the traditional method that vampire hunters use if they turn. However, he was still unable to go through with it.

Following that, he proceeds to attempt to blend in with his family, hiding his vampirism from them in an attempt to feel normal. While this works for some time, as the years pass on, his parents eventually notice that he isn’t aging and once they do find out about him being a vampire, attempt to kill him saying: “our son is already dead”. When they are unable to go through with it, his parents deploy the next option: exile. He is exiled from his family for being a vampire. Moving forward in the future, he is no longer a hunter, but rather, a vampire..just like he has accepted amongst the brood.
