The General Lives

by Davis (aka Celeste)

So she lived…

The “General” lives…

I should have guessed with the surge of murders in the area. But now Sunny’s accounts of facing a blonde vampire clad in pink. No doubt about it, it’s my prodegy, my childe.

*sigh* What a mess… I am not going to hear the end of it from Collier im sure. But I couldn’t have taken her in these conditions. After all, I wasn’t completely sure she would survive.

If I had taken her in she would have been indoctrinated to a life of serving a cause she had no business in. Then again, I did make it her problem when I turned her… didn’t I?

As part of the agreement for funding, Collier required a guard with the similar capabilities as the original experiment. The requirements where that the “general” had the ability to lead an army, helping Collier secure his place as the “Prince” of San Guiles.

The serum was similar to the one Albrecht gave his childe, however instead of blood magic capabilities the serum made it possible that the general had Celerity for close combat battles, Presence to command attention and finally Domination, the power to control minds. If the situation calls for it, the general will be able to control “the weapon” keeping both Albrecht and Collier out of harms way.

The main canidate was a young woman by the name of Celeste Luna. Celeste is a gifted computer engineering student with a passion for strategy games. On top of that Celeste was fit and agile thanks to her involvement with cheer. And from a Torador’s perspective, charasmatic with her peers.

Even on a blind selection, all three, lvea, Albrecht and Collier agreed. Celeste was the best candidate for the job.

Collier instructed that his general have a sence of decorum and pose since he will often be seen by them. To the others that translates to the General being of a certain clan. Since I was the only Toreador in the group and by prosses of elimination I would be the one to turn her.

The process was simple. Prick your finger and mix your blood into the exlir. Once you subdued the target drink enough to replace the blood with the mixture. After, I inject a separate mixture for her to forget that I turned her. She would be loyal to Collier and form no attachments to me.

However, I replaced the original elixir that was supposed to go to Celeste with an unstable version that was made by my niece. This particular mixture had a strain of Malkavian DNA. Malkavian vampires had a slight resistance to Domination due to their mental state. Far from the perfected Tremere DNA that Von Adler created.

It was risky but, I don’t want this life for her. She should be free. So if she had a bit of resistance to the others then she can have a chance to defend herself.

Finally on December 13th is when I made my move.

I found her sitting by the corpse of trees near a local arcade. She seemed like she had her mind on something, taking a puff out of her cigarette ever so often.

I remember feeling nervous. It was the first time I ever sired anyone in my life. But it was now or never…

I took my position on top of a tree about 300 feet away from her then I commenced the plan.

Phase 1

Activate Presence..

Presence allows my voice to be heard by my target. They can hear me but not anyone else. Its useful to lure prey out of crowds but I just needed her to go deeper in the woods.

“Celeste” I called

She jumped, she seems confused.

“Celeste-” I called again, “Follow me-“

She looked around berally moving, but then threw her cigarette to the ground and followed my voice.

As she gets closer she stops suddenly. Looking around the trees once more she speaks.

“Professor Arabella?” Celeste responded. “Is that you?”

Dammit she recognized me… Maybe I can work this to my advantage.

“Celeste, come closer”

She rushes towards my way, “Why? Proffesor are you in trouble?” She asked. Poor kid doesn’t realize she is under a spell.

Right when she was close enough, I instucted her to stop. She is in close enough range to control now.

“Proffesor? Where are you?” Celeste asked, shivering more from fear than cold.

Phase two

Confront the target…

I jumped off the tree I was hiding and revealed myself to Celeste in my true form. Before she only saw my disguised self. Now the fangs and eyes are out.

“Oh god…Proffesor… Why do you look…”

She couldn’t mutter the words… She was in shock, the poor thing. Seeing her proffesor like this must be chilling sight.

I lowered my head as I prepared myself for what’s next, “Celeste, I am sorry…”

Phase 3…

That was when I rushed and grabbed her and sunk my teeth in her neck. I was able to use my powers to turn the pain into a sence of calm. It would be better if she was unconcious. She would “pass” peacefully at the very least.

Once I drank enough of her blood, I quickly grabbed the vial. I looked at it for a moment… her life is going to drastically change from here on out…

Before I could open the vial, a weak cold hand lightly grabs me… I looked and saw Celeste, barely conscious.

A weak resistance to light mind control. That is absolutely perfect. Maybe she had a chance after all.

“Proffesor Arabella…” a weakend Celeste muttered, “Geez I didn’t know vampires existed haha, much less you… I guess you did seem a little old fashioned at times haha…”

Making jokes at a time like this huh, Celeste. You always had a peculiar sense of humor.

“Shh… shh…conserve your energy, child, I will make sure you are healthy again.” I replied in an attempt to comfort her.

As I was opening the vial, she asked, “Are you turning me into a vampire?”

I sighed, she always asked so many questions, this one…

“I guess I am…”

She smiled. “Hehe… Wicked…”

She was delirious… but this gives me an opportunity to leave her a message within her memories…

I moved in closer, close enough that my forehead was touching hers staring at her intensely.

“Celeste, you have to listen to me. As much as I don’t want to leave you. You are going to have to survive on your own. Do not get caught. If you are able to survive, find me.”

“Find.. you..?” she muttered

“Find me Celeste… You will have my blood running in your veins. From now on, you are my childe. And nothing will change that. We are now bonded for eternity…”

I pushed the vial to her mouth but before she drank it she stopped me. She grabs my hand and looks at me straight in my eyes. Her gaze was intense as if she was looking straight at my heart. I had no idea what she was looking for but seeing my pupil… dying by my hand. It made me tear up…

I felt horrible how she had to be turned but there was no other way… After a moment, she laughed a laugh so hard that it was almost quaking the earth around us. It seems my expression explained something to her.

After laughing for what seemed to be forever. Celeste finally spoke, “What ever you need help with, you can count on me. I’ll figure it out.”

Before I could answer. She swiped the vial from out of my hand and gulped it down.

Then she said her last words, ” I never thought I would die so young… but maybe this isn’t dying… It’s a rebirth…See ya later…:”

She slipped out of consciousness… At her current state, a corpse… but in a few minutes she will rise again. Not as a human but as a flegling vampire. I decided that I better try to stay out of view and observe in the distance.

Before that…

I put my hand on her head and hid all the memory of the past 5 minutes away in her consciousness. They will appear slowly but surely. She just has to find keys to trigger that memory back. It would be for the best for her to not have a sire connected to her enslavement anyway. I just need more time to prepare if she survives this.

After I was done, I rushed back to the shadows and hid.

Moments later, the fledging woke up. She looks confused… good the memory cloak worked. I turned back behind the tree, It seems safe for me to leave…But right before I left, a blood curdling scream filled the forest.

When I looked back, Celeste was attacking a young man while two others stood and watched.

“Shit” I thought. “I need to clean this up”

I closed my eyes and connected myself to Celeste’s mind. Now that she has my blood, I have a direct connection to her at this distance.

“Celeste, let go of the young man… you had enough to drink for now. I will leave you with this advice.

Drink not drain… Do not get caught… And you will figure this out.”

She let go of the young man and retreated into the night.

“Ok” I thought to myself, ” It’s my turn.. “

I jumped down, quickly put my human cover on and

appeared myself towards the group.

“Hello? Hello? I heard someone scream ” I yelled to the group.

“Please, help!!” The girl shouted, “He is bleeding outn”

I ran closer to the group and sure enough I recognized one of them.

“Jenny? What happened?” I asked while rushing to treat the injured man.

“Dr. Arabella? Oh I don’t think you would believe me if I tried.. but something is wrong with Celeste She looks different and just attacked Andres and… We have to go after her…she is in tro-“

I stopped her right there. I gazed at both Jenny and the other boy and had them both in a trance. That should keep them while I heal the injured party.

I grabbed the memory erasing potion and pricked my fingers with my fangs to mix the potion with my blood. A small amount of vampire blood is enough to hold one over a couple days from a mortal wound. The doctors in the area are competent. He will be ok once he is checked in.

Once I administered the vaccine, it was time to deal with the other two. I moved towards them and ordered them to believe that Celeste was dead. She was involved in an accident that hurt the young man and they are to tell the doctors nothing of what happened.

I let them go of the trance and told them that I will take them to the hospital.

I stayed with them through out the night at the hospital, Jenny was breaking down crying, believing she had lost her beloved. All I could do was console her, even though I was the one who caused it. It was the hardest night I have experienced in recent years.

The next morning the wounded young man survived without any memory what happened. That mixture did work after all. When questioned, the three did not say a thing about Celeste being the attacker, if anything they truly believed that Celeste may have been a victim of whatever attacked the young man.

When I went back to the lab I notified lvea and Albrecht that the serum was too much for the candidate to handle and its highly unlikely for her to survive. Though disappointing, they knew it was a first attempt, mixing the supernatural with science was a mostly unexplored art.

Flash forward to today… Albrecht’s assistant came back slightly wounded. They described as they where retrieving the weapon, they where stopped by what they can only describe as “The General”

I told them details about Celeste since they cared to listen in the past. So if they said she was alive and guarding the runaway, it has to be her.

That is when I revealed the identity of the “general”.

The other two shocked and clearly upset that she was now in an alliance with the other. Not only that, the two are now involved with a band of misfit vampires that call themselves a brood. It will be harder to extract them now.

While this stress out lvea and Dr. Von Adler… I was at peace. My childe has survived… I don’t know why but a sence of pride filled my heart. Then I had a plan…

“I will approach Celeste myself. ” I told my colleagues, “I used to be her proffesor, she will trust me. However, we can not apprehend her right away, we just need to have her guard low enough to trust me. Allow me to teach her how to make use of her Celerity and Presence ability as her teacher. That way all that is left to teach once she is in our grasp is Domination.”

They looked at each other and decided that that was the best course of action. Celeste would not warm up to either of them so easily so taking things slow would allow her to drop her guard.

I will be reaching out to you soon, my childe. There is so much for me to teach you. Hopefully, it will be enough to help you and your friends survive. If things pan out the way I plan… You shall inhert my power. That way you can protect what you hold dear…

Till I see you again, Celeste.
